Sony’s VPL-XW5000ES & VPL-XW7000ES For Memorable Home Cinema

Home cinema pleasure even with bright lighting? The new VPL-XW5000ES and VPL-XW7000ES  projectors from Sony guarantee a thrilling viewing experience in all lighting conditions thanks to new and improved technologies.

The two new additions to Sony’s laser projector portfolio use a new native 4K 0.61″ SXRD panel to deliver incredibly sharp images with cinematic fluidity. Both projectors are also particularly impressive due to their outstanding luminosity, ensuring bright images even on large screens. The VPL-XW5000ES achieves up to 2,000 ANSI lumens. Although the laser projector is between 30% and 35% smaller and lighter than last year’s VPL-VW790ES, it still achieves the same brightness levels. Meanwhile, the VPL-XW7000ES even shines with a full 3,200 ANSI lumens. The laser light sources of both projectors are designed for longevity and are also mercury-free. In general, both projectors stand out, not least because Sony strives for sustainability in their products. Compared to its predecessor, the VPL-VW790ES, the VPL-XW7000ES’ housing is made of 30% less plastic, while packaging materials have been reduced by 15%. The power consumption of the VPL-XW5000ES has been reduced by 30% per lumen despite the powerful 2000 lumens.

As with previous models, the new XW series features the X1 Ultimate cognitive processor. The technology, known from the BRAVIA XR TVs, analyzes the content and reproduces it adapted to human perception. Thanks to the IMAX Enhanced picture mode, IMAX Enhanced content can be shown to its best advantage while fully utilizing the surface of your projection screens. Dynamic HDR Enhancer as well as object-based HDR Remaster increase contrast and image depth, further contributing to the insensitivity to ambient lighting. And thus, in this way, even brighter and more beautiful 4K HDR images can be achieved. Sony’s unique TRILUMINOS PRO algorithm detects colors from saturation, hue, and brightness, ensuring the reproduction of natural shades in all details, and in this way, can bring over a billion colors to life. Both projectors have basically the same connectivity options: Lan, twice HDMI, Trigger, Remote, and USB. The VPL-XW7000ES also has an additional unsynced output.
